At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on October 16, council approved several contracts for maintenance and upgrades at the MRC office in Campbell’s Bay, as well as work on two sections of the PPJ trail.

Electrical panels: the resolution notes that due to the addition of four new electric vehicle charging stations in the MRC’s office, a new electrical panel needed to be added. Hodgins Electric was awarded a contract for the upgrade, valued at $5,269.30.

Walls and flooring: Toitures Boulet Inc. won a contract of $58,860.31 to renovate the floors and walls in the older portion of the MRC building. The resolution notes that $46,562 will be reallocated from an unused sum previously earmarked for professional human resources. MRC accountant Annie Vaillancourt explained that the work would be to insulate some walls to reduce noise and replace floor tiles.

Snow removal: Déneigement Pontiac was given a contract of $6,179.91 for clearing snow from the MRC’s parking lot for the 2024/5 season.

PPJ: Nugent Construction was awarded two contracts for $49,280 and $79,640 for stone dust resurfacing on two sections of the PPJ trail. MRC Director General Kim Lesage said that the first was for a 2 km stretch in Mansfield-et-Pontefract, and the second was for a 3.1 km section in l’Isle-aux-Allumettes, allocated from the PPJ budget.
