Western Quebec School Board will also reimburse parents for travel
The Western Quebec School Board has joined the CSSHBO in offering financial compensation to parents affected by the ongoing school bus driver strike.
In a letter sent to parents on Friday (May 26), the board announced that they would be paying out parents depending on the distance they had to transport their children to school. The compensation is retroactive to when the strike began on May 1. The rate is as follows:
- less than 13.9 km = $10 per day
- 14 km and over = $20 per day
- Additional 50% when travelling to two schools with different schedules
Parents were issued forms to fill out in order to receive the funds.
