Warden Toller meets with new owner of Pontiac Industrial Park

MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller met the new owner of the Pontiac Industrial Park, Pascal Proulx from the firm Carrera, this week. She said she discussed her proposed energy from waste project with him, and added that he seemed interested in the project.

Toller has repeatedly touted the site in Litchfield as the host of the proposed facility, and has also sought approvals to transport garbage from the city of Ottawa and Renfrew County into Quebec to be incinerated to create electricity. She pointed out that the Outaouais as a whole produces 90,000 tons of waste annually, but they need at least 150,000 tons for the facility to be viable, which would mean looking across the river.
