Tourisme Outaouais will launch a tourist package reservation service, called Experience Outaouais, to support tourism businesses here and generate additional revenue in the region. From the start of this summer, this new commercial entity will offer regional, provincial, national and soon international tourists, the possibility of booking their vacation packages and stays online at www.experienceoutaouais.com or through the Tourisme Outaouais website.

“We are offering a new service to our members, similar to an in-house travel agency, dedicated to the sale of Outaouais tourism products. By bundling the offer, we are offering a transactional showcase to businesses that do not have one and we will rally the industry to keep people in the Outaouais longer. Visitors and tour operators will be able to consult the offers as well as book or buy their stays in the Outaouais thanks to our transactional site ”, explains the President and CEO of Tourisme Outaouais, France Bélisle.

The idea of a reservation center is not trivial. The pandemic has given Quebeckers a taste to discover or rediscover their beautiful province. Canadians are also more curious about visiting other provinces with border closures and the constraints of international travel. Tourisme Outaouais wanted to take advantage of this opportunity.

Promoting the destination through package deals and making tourists and day trippers travel throughout the Outaouais territory fit into the mandate given by the Ministère du Tourisme to Tourisme Outaouais in the context of the gateway. Moreover, this new service will be used to propel Outaouais businesses in the various initiatives of the ministry or industry partners.

The flat rate service meets the following objectives:

– Simplify the visitor’s life by offering packages to discover the Outaouais on a platform;

– Circulate residents of the Outaouais, Ottawa and Eastern Ontario throughout the territory;

– Structure offers including accommodation to generate overnight stays;

– Propose new initiatives in the promotion of business tourism;

– Continue to support tourism businesses with a view to recovery.

The package service: an asset for business tourism.

Information sessions for tourism companies wishing to package their offer will take place in the coming days. The full interview with France Bélisle is available here.
