The MRC Pontiac unveiled Monday (December 14) a public charging station for electric vehicles. This initiative is part of the SAUVéR project — a car-sharing system with an electric vehicle for municipalities, organizations, associations and companies wishing to develop an alternative mode of public transport for citizens. The MRC mentioned that the new charging station is a 240 volts (level 2).

An electrical circuit for members
This charging station is part of the Hydro-Québec Electric Circuit, which has installed charging stations in the parking lots of numerous partners across Quebec and Eastern Ontario. The Electric Circuit is, according to the MRC, the first public electric vehicle charging network in Canada. It offers 240 and 400 volt charging stations.

Tour users must first become a member to obtain a user card. This card can be used to recharge a vehicle at any charging station in the network. Users can also download an app to find all existing charging stations. More information is available through the Electric Circuit website.
