Pontiac MP William Amos released a statement yesterday regarding the incident involving the naked picture of him in his office during a meeting of the House of Commons. The photo of which made the news around the world. The latter accuses that the photo was shared without his consent.

“I want to start by thanking everyone who sent me messages of support following yesterday’s unfortunate situation. The past 24 hours have certainly not been obvious on a professional or personal level, but I will not allow these circumstances to be a distraction from my job for my constituents in Pontiac and our country. I find it unfortunate that someone shared, without my consent, a photo I was changing my clothes on that came from a video feed that only MPs or a very small number of staff had access to. No one deserves to suffer such prejudice. I expect the Speaker of the House of Commons to conduct a full investigation, as requested by the Government House Leader, the Honorable Pablo Rodriguez ”

According to the Liberals, the incident involving the member for Pontiac violates the rules of the House of Commons in Ottawa which prohibit taking photos during parliamentary proceedings. However, the Chief Government Whip of Canada, Mark Holland, does not apologize for the gesture of his fellow MP, but finds the act of sharing the screenshot unacceptable. “This is not part of normal or acceptable partisan politics. It is a cruel, petty and potentially criminal act. We ask for the help of all parliamentarians to find those responsible and hold them to account. What the member for Pontiac and his family went through should never happen again, ”said Mark Holland. Since the news broke, the mounting photo of Pontiac MP William Amos, naked in his office, has been touring the world. In addition to Canadian television such as Infoman on Radio-Canada or with Mario Dumont on LCN, CNN, the BBC as well as several media reported the incident.
