The Centre de service scolaire des Hauts-Bois-de l’Outaouas (CSSHBO) wanted to communicate to parents, students and staff, that following the announcement of the extension of the special emergency measures put in place for the Outaouais until May 9, the school service centers of the Outaouais will remain closed.

The CSSHBO has pointed out that the following measures apply:
• For preschool and elementary students
Students stay at home and continue learning at a distance.

• For secondary students
Students stay at home and continue distance education on the usual schedule.

• For students of adult education and vocational training
Distance education is encouraged. However, face-to-face courses are permitted when the technical component cannot be carried out remotely.

• Teleworking
The employees continue their teleworking tasks, except the employees whose presence is essential to the pursuit of the activities of the school service center. School and center staff will email all modalities related to teaching remotely.

As for emergency childcare services, they are always offered to parents working in a priority sector of activity, including school staff. The complete list of targeted jobs and the registration platform are available on the Government of Quebec website (Québec.ca).

“Please note that it is essential that parents register their child no later than 24 hours before the date on which they wish to use the service. We will keep you informed of the evolution of the situation and of the decisions taken by the government in connection with the school environment. The health and safety of students and our staff members remain our priority, ”emphasized the CSSHBO.
