Statistics from the Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais regarding COVID-19 cases have been updated after some changes in the last hours. The Pontiac Local Service Network (RLS) has, as of November 20, 37 cases since the start of the pandemic, but the distribution by municipality has been changed. Among the cases, 27 are found in the municipality of Pontiac (from Quyon to Breckenridge) and the other cases are distributed among the municipalities of the MRC Pontiac, namely Campbell’s Bay, Fort-Coulonge, Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Mansfield and Shawville. There are currently 4 active cases in the Pontiac RLS.

Statistics in growth and decline
The number of cases in the MRC Pontiac is therefore 10 instead of 13, as it had been announced at the beginning of the week. The warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller, who said earlier this week that 13 cases had been listed, contacted the CISSS de l’Outaouais to find out the reasons for this change.

Passing by CHIP 101.9 this week, the MNA for Pontiac André Fortin deplored that the method of counting cases of COVID-19 has been modified a few times since the start of the pandemic. “In a context where everyone is worried, where everyone wants to know the situation, a little transparency would have gone a long way,” declared André Fortin.

Remember that the municipality of Pontiac is part of the RLS Pontiac but located in the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais and is currently in the red zone. The MRC Pontiac, comprising 18 municipalities from Bristol to Rapides-des-Joachims is currently in the orange zone.
