The Campbell’s Bay Recreation Center will be the vaccination site in the Pontiac

The Campbell’s Bay Recreation Center was selected as the site for COVID-19 vaccination in Pontiac. The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais made the announcement today, specifying that this site is one of those with lower speeds.

“Over the past few weeks, a real ‘sprint’ has taken place to get the Outaouais ready for this vaccination campaign. The health and social services establishment would like to thank its provincial and municipal partners who helped find prime, safe and accessible locations for the entire population of the Outaouais ”said the President and CEO of the CISSS from the Outaouais, Josée Fillion.

Elsewhere in the Outaouais, sites have also been selected to be places for mass vaccinations. In the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais, the La Pêche community center was chosen.

“The different sites have been selected for accessibility and the security aspect. There are several aspects to security. There is social distancing but also the safety of the vaccine to preserve its integrity ”specified the director of the vaccination campaign, Nency Héroux.

Here are the places of mass vaccinations:

• Palais des Congrès de Gatineau, 50 Maisonneuve Boulevard in Gatineau (42 stations) ;
• Buckingham Community Centre, 181 Joseph Street in Gatineau (12 stations) ;
• Wakefield Community Centre, La Pêche, 38 Wakefield Valley Road in Wakefield (12 stations).

These sites will operate 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Vaccinators will be able to administer the vaccine to 10 people per hour when the sites will be fully operational.

Three other sites with lower flow rates were selected:

• Whissell Sports Complex, 530 Charles-August-Montreuil Street in St-André-Avellin (4 stations);
• Centre Multi fonctionnel de Maniwaki, home of Club de Curling de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, 50 Commercial Street in Maniwaki (4 stations);
• Campbell’s Bay Recreational Center, 2 Second Street in Campbell’s Bay (4 stations)

These sites will operate 5 days a week, 7 hours a day. Vaccinators will be able to administer the vaccine to 7 people per hour when the sites will be fully operational.

“The opening dates of the vaccination sites will depend on the amount of vaccine we receive over the next few weeks. We must first complete the vaccination round in private seniors’ residences, as well as isolated and remote communities before proceeding with the mass vaccination, “said the CISSS de l’Outaouais.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais said it estimated that it would be able, depending on the number of people to be vaccinated and the quantity of vaccines received, to vaccinate between 3,000 and 6,000 people per day. The CISSS specified that the vaccination of the population of the Outaouais will be carried out in accordance with the priority groups established by the government.
