18 August 2021 à 12:00 am

Environment Canada issued a special weather alert for Pontiac today (August 18), warning of a warm humid air mass that would blanket the area until Monday.

Temperatures are expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius, but with the Humidex, they could rise to 40 degrees on Friday and Saturday. At night, temperatures will only dip down in the 20 degree range.

Environment Canada warns that children, pregnant women and the elderly are at greatest risk, along with those who work outdoors.

“Drink lots of water, even before feeling thirsty, and keep cool,” the statement reads.
