Ski Pontiac hosting new 55+ club, moonlight ski events returning

Ski Pontiac is already gearing up for another season of sliding on their network of trails at Astra Estates in Norway Bay (formerly the Norway Bay Golf Course).

President Ariane Cloutier said that their popular moonlight ski and snowshoe events would be returning this year, with the first scheduled for January 27 at 6 p.m. Participants will be able to travel the group’s extensive trails by torchlight and pop into the Astra Estates restaurant for some refreshments. Equipment will be available by reservation.

Cloutier also highlighted a new initiative that they hatched this year with the help of Ski at School Outaouais, the Salt and Pepper Ski Club for those 55+. The group meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays for excursions both in Bristol and elsewhere in the Pontiac, with equipment provided for those who need it.

Cloutier added that the group is always in need of volunteers, and specifically they were looking for someone to help with electronic correspondence and also someone to take minutes of their meetings.
