The Shawville District Minor Hockey Association (SDMHA) made the decision to suspend its upcoming season due to the Quebec Government announcement Saturday that Gatineau and the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais would be moving in to the Red Zone, affecting more than half of the league.

Despite some teams remaining in the Orange panel, such as in the MRC of Pontiac and Vallée de la Gatineau, the acting president of the board of directors of the SDMHA, Kerry Reasbeck, explained that this decision took into account the monetary and collectivism of the league.

Until the COVID-19 situation improves, meaning the whole region moves into the Orange once more, no games will be played by the SDMHA, according to Reasbeck.
