Rhonda Perry recognized at L’EntourElle’s Salon des Femmes
Local non-profit L’EntourElle hosted their Salon des Femmes event last week at the Spruceholme Inn in Fort-Coulonge, and honoured long-time board member Rhonda Perry for more than two decades of service with the organization. The group offers a wide range of free resources for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, from emergency accommodation to a crisis line and support groups.
Perry said that she wasn’t expecting the recognition and was honoured to be a part of such an important service for women and children in the Pontiac. Though she has sat on the board of directors for the past 25 years, she also worked for the organization as a student and recent graduate before transitioning into her current career in economic development.
Perry said that she was proud to have been a part of the evolution of L’EntourElle over the years, from expanding their services to increasing the number of units at their shelter from 9 to 12. While she said that she would continue on the board “for as long as they’ll take me” she encouraged next generation to get involved and bring their expertise to this vital resource.
