Pontiac’s air quality impacted by forest fires in northwestern Ontario
Environment Canada has published a special statement regarding the air quality in the Pontiac, due to smoke from forest fires in northwestern Ontario.
The release, published July 19, states that smoke is expected to negatively effect air quality and last until Thursday morning, covering the area from Rapides des Joachims down to Shawville. Citizens may experience symptoms such as throat irritation, increased coughing, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors or those with breathing issues such as asthma are at an increased risk.
