Paid training and employment for CFP Pontiac students at the CISSS de l’Outaouais
In a first for the Pontiac Professional Training Centre (CFP), they have announced a partnership with will allow those in the “Home and institutional care” program to have paid training and a chance at a job with the CISSS de l’Outaouais at the end of their training. The partnership brings together Service Quebec, the CISSS de l’Outaouais, the Hauts Bois de l’Outaouais Service Centre and Carrefour jeunesse-emploi du Pontiac.
“The students will receive pay during their training. They will be hired by the CISSS de l’Outaouais for their internship with the possibility of a job afterwards,” explained Serge Lacoursière, the director of the Adult Education and Vocational Training Department at the CSSHBO (translated). Spots in this roughly eight month course are limited to 12 per cohort.
“At the moment, there are currently 3 places left. All it takes is secondary three or passing a general development test,” Lacoursière said (translated). The course starts August 30. “These are good jobs starting at $20 and up.”
