The Phare Ouest organization has succeeded in raising more than $ 120,000 to date in order to implement the Félix-Gabriel Marchand Bridge illumination project. Recently, the Council of Mayors approved an amount of $ 35,324.20 from Component 2 of the Regions and Rurality Fund (FRR). The person in charge of this project for the Phare Ouest organization, Louis Harvey, explains that until now, several partners have supported the project, such as the Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac, Tourisme Outaouais and the municipality of Mansfield-et-Pontefract.

Although the project has been announced for this summer, delays beyond the control of the organization could occur, given the work that is currently being done on the covered bridge. “On the other hand, even if there is a delay, that will not change anything since we already have the amounts to put everything in place” explains Louis Harvey.

Note that a smartphone application will allow users to take control of the bridge illumination for one minute.

The French interview with Louis Harvey is available here.
