Outaouais community organizations decry provincial budget
The Table régionale des organismes communautaires autonomes de l’Outaouais (TROCAO), an umbrella organization that represents more than 100 community organizations in the Outaouais, has decried the amount of money allocated to community groups in Quebec’s recently tabled budget. The group’s Director General Daniel Cayley-Daoust explained that they had been protesting earlier in the year to demand an increase of $460 million annually for groups across the province, but the government’s planned investments fall short.
He said that the government had provided a boost to certain groups, but the amount fell short of what they would have liked to see.
