New board at Art Pontiac has big plans for 2024

29 January 2024 à 11:45 am

With a new executive at the helm of local non-profit Art Pontiac, the group has big plans for the upcoming year.

David Perrett, the newly elected vice-president of the organization, is a sculptor with more than 20 years experience who moved to the Pontiac a little over a year ago. With experience sitting on the board of various arts organizations in his native Manitoba as well as Hamilton Ont., he said that getting involved in the local art scene was a no-brainer.

Perrett said that they were planning a slate of activities this year, including shows at several venues throughout the region, workshops by various artists, as well as a professional development day to give newer artists advice on different aspects of the art business. Also new this year, they will be hosting “coffee and cake” meet and greets from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the last Sunday of every month at the Stone School Gallery, as a way for members to meet and chat with the group’s executive.

More information can be found on Art Pontiac’s website.

The full interview with Perrett (10m) is available here.
