Naomie and Xavier Lusignan named Junior Ontario Champions in their respective divisions

Naomie and Xavier Lusignan once again shone at the Junior Provincial Weightlifting Championships held in Peterborough last Saturday. The two athletes from Mansfield-and-Pontefract won gold medals in their respective categories.

Naomie, competing in the 71 kilo division, recorded a best snatch of 83 kg (183 lbs) and a best clean and jerk of 95 kg (209.4 lbs). Xavier, competing in the 96 kilo division, recorded a best snatch of 133 kg (293.2 lbs) and a best clean and jerk of 168 kg (370.4 lbs).

In addition, Xavier achieved the highest Robi score in the competition (398.68), which is a formula used by the International Weightlifting Federation to measure an athlete’s results across weight classes.
