In a letter addressing Litchfield residents, Municipal officials made a point to remind citizens that the Government of Quebec officially delegated the responsibility of ensuring swimming pool safety to individual municipalities.

According to Litchfield public officials, letters have already been sent out to residents who own a swimming pool. And, some homeowners have even received an inspection for pool safety. Other inspections are in the pipeline, but the Municipality is asking residents who wish to use a swimming pool in the near future to contact the municipal office for details and regulations. In view of summer, the Municipality of Litchfield made a point to invite families to come out and use the municipal park. Adding, ‘’the Park belongs to residents’’ and that they can reserve a date with the municipal office.

The Municipality of Litchfield has applied for a grant from the New Horizonsa program for seniors. If accepted, these funds will be used to replace and extend the pedestrian walkway.
