Ministry of Transport closes bridge P-08574 on the Black River Road

Quebec’s Ministry of Transport has closed bridge P-08574, situated on the Black River Road in Waltham, due to the high level of the river. The MTQ’s Campbell’s Bay service centre has installed signage warning of the closure.

“The bridge will be reopened when the level of the river no longer touches the beams of the bridge. However, an inspection will be necessary before the reopening of this one,” MTQ spokesperson Simon St-Amour Moreau wrote in an email (translated).

Following up on complaints from local residents, CHIP 101.9 will soon be publishing an interview with Davin Dossett, the President of the Black River Green Lake Cottager’s Association, discussing the issue.
