Loisir sport Outaouais director departs
The board of directors at Loisir sport Outaouais (LSO) announced in a press release that as of March 17 of this year, Frédérique Delisle will be leaving her post of director general, which she has occupied since 2012. Speaking on behalf of the board, chair Jean-Yves Lord thanked her for her work.
“Frederique has shown visionary leadership and great dedication to LSO over the past 10 years. Under his direction, the organization carried out a transformation that allowed it to refocus on its mission, meet the needs of its clientele and improve the quality of its services,” he wrote (translated). “It was under his leadership that LSO established itself as a regional center of expertise in leisure, sport and the outdoors. I would like to thank her for her numerous contributions, in particular for her unfailing support in the establishment and operation of LSO’s governance bodies. I wish him the best success in taking up his next professional challenge.”
Delisle emphasized that the decision to leave was “not easy, but now is the time to do it. In this year of the 25th anniversary of LSO, the organization is strong in good financial health and has a solid and competent team. The people I have met over the years in the region will always remain an inspiration to me,” she wrote (translated). “I am grateful and honored to have been part of an organization that is a pillar of regional development in recreation, sport and the outdoors and I am proud of the progress made. I thank my co-workers and the members of the Board of Directors for their confidence.”
Julie DeCourval, the assistant DG since 2017, will act as interim director until a permanent director is found.
