The MP for Pontac William Amos, announced the investment of $ 38,500 for the “Pontiac Anishinaabe Healing Garden” project which will be built in Mansfield-et-Pontefract (near the Chemin de la Chute and rue Lévesque). The project wishes to highlight the reality experienced by First Nations within Native residential schools.

“It is a project that advocates reconciliation and healing, not only for individuals but for everyone. The whole history of these schools, of the Indian residential schools has been damaging for Canadians,” said William Amos .

This project should be unveiled in June 2021, according to the organization that initiated the project, the Native Community of Pontiac. The interview with William Amos is available here.
