Flooding 2023 : Fort-Coulonge closes Bord de l’Eau, Proudfoot and Boucher roads
Due to the rapidly rising levels of the Ottawa River, the Municipality of Fort-Coulonge has closed three roads and currently has three flooded homes. The affected roads are Boucher, Bord de l’Eau and Proudfoot. Mayor Christine Francoeur told CHIP 101.9 that residents with flooded properties should phone the municipality to inform them.
Centennial park has also been closed and crews were putting up sand dikes in strategic points to protect the local area.
She added that they had added several pumps to help their wastewater system and encouraged residents to reduce their water usage to take some pressure off the system.
