Pontiac MP, Liberal William Amos, spoke on the case involving MP Derek Sloan, after he accepted a donation from a white supremacist last summer. William Amos hinted that the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) may have other neo-Nazis as donors.

“The sad thing about this story is not that it highlights a dark side of the Conservative Party of Canada. I do not understand why a political party accepts into its ranks and refuses to distance itself from such a controversial MP. Derek Sloan should have been ousted from the CPC caucus after his racist comments against Dr. Theresa Tam. The CPC should commit to an independent external party looking at its entire donor base, because there is no smoke without fire … I would be very surprised if this was the only neo-Nazi donor at the Conservatives’ election fund ”wrote William Amos via his Facebook page.

MP Derek Sloan was kicked out of the CPC as requested by Chief Erin O’Toole.

A candidate for the Conservatives for the riding of Pontiac?

Former journalist and editor-in-chief of Le Droit, Michel Gauthier, has revealed an interest in representing the CPC in view of the upcoming federal elections.

“I have indeed had discussions on this subject with the leaders of the party in Quebec, but it is too early at this time to draw any conclusions. There is of course interest on both sides, but no official decision has yet been taken and I am at the stage of reflection. Many notes of encouragement have reached me and they nourish this reflection. But the decision remains to come, ”said Michel Gauthier.

Michel Gauthier is a resident of Bois-Franc in the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau.
