As announced last June by Pontiac MNA André Fortin and the Minister of Health and Social Services of Quebec, Gaétan Barrette, a satellite hemodialysis unit will open in the Shawville hospital.

Although the date of implementation of this unit has not been specified, some residents of the Pontiac are wondering about the advent of the project, including Jean-Guy Lévesque, resident of Mansfield, who would like to have an update on the situation.

The Quebec government announced a grant of more than $ 2 million to the Outaouais Integrated Health and Social Services Center to set up the hemodialysis unit in Shawville. Funding is also supported by a $ 659,000 contribution from the Pontiac Community Hospital Foundation.
