Fort Coulonge Knights of Columbus fundraising for generator
Gerard Romain, the Grand Knight of the Fort-Coulonge Knights of Columbus visited the studio at CHIP 101.9 to discuss the current state of the organization. Due to the pandemic kiboshing the Knights’ in-person bingo fundraiser, they partnered up with CHIP 101.9 to move their game on-air, which Romain said was a great success. He highlighted the work that the group does in the community, by donating to different organizations, hosting an annual Christmas food drive and looking out for vulnerable citizens.
He explained that they’re currently fundraising to fix up a generator that was donated to them, in order to ensure that the hall can be a gathering place for the community in the event of a storm or power outage. He estimated that they would need between $10,000 and $15,000 to get the unit working again.
