Financial assistance of nearly $ 195,000 for Le jardin éducatif du Pontiac and the Western Quebec Literacy Council

More than $ 194,000 in financial assistance will be allocated to two Pontiac organizations – Le jardin éducatif du Pontiac and the Western Quebec Literacy Council, to help them coordinate their actions in the field of literacy. The Pontiac MNA André Fortin made the announcement this morning:

Le jardin éducatif du Pontiac will receive an extra $ 34,928, bringing the total amount granted in 2017-2018 to $ 84,928.

The Literacy Council of Western Quebec will receive an extra $ 22,476, bringing the amount granted in 2017-2018 to $ 109,076. Executive Director of the Western Quebec Literacy Council, Michèle Gagnon speaks of the benefits of the extra funding;

This sum of $ 27.4 million granted under the Community Action Program in Education (PACTE) is intended for the literacy, to help against school dropout, and continuing education in order to have greater financial stability and thus meet the needs of the one million Quebecers who live every day with difficulties reading and writing.
