Esprit Rafting owner discusses this year’s flooding
With the river regulation authorities forecasting the levels declining over the coming week, CHIP 101.9 spoke with Davidson resident and owner of Esprit Rafting, Jim Coffey, about how this spring’s flooding compared to years past.
He said that the preparation by both waterfront residents like himself as well as the municipality made the ordeal less challenging than previous years. He highlighted the municipality’s efforts to prepare sandbags in advance for residents, as well as the amount of information sharing in local flood watch Facebook groups.
He said that he would like to see a analysis from the main authorities involved in river management and government to discuss how things could be improved in future years.
