Drunk driver arrested in Shawville Monday night
At around 7 p.m. Monday evening (July 1), Sûreté du Québec officers pulled over a vehicle on John Street in Shawville, as the driver wasn’t wearing his seatbelt.
After conducting checks, officers arrested the driver, a 47-year-old man from Shawville, as his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. A statement from police notes that the driver is scheduled to appear at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse where he could face charges for impaired driving as well as breach of conditions.
His license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was seized for 30 days, on top of a $322 fine and three demerit points for not wearing his seatbelt.
