Drugs and stolen dirt bikes seized in Mansfield, two men arrested
Around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday October 15, Sûreté du Québec officers from the MRC Pontiac station intercepted a vehicle for a check in the parking lot of Mansfield-et-Pontefract’s town hall. In the course of a routine check, police noticed open cans of beer in the vehicle. They investigated further and found two dirt bikes in the trailer as well as drugs. A check revealed that the bikes were reported stolen. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and taken to the SQ station. The trailer was towed to the station and a search was later carried out after obtaining the appropriate court authorizations.
Following the search, officers seized:
-More than 40 grams of cocaine
-More than 20 methamphetamine pills
-A loaded handgun
-A semi-automatic weapon with a prohibited magazine
-More than $17,000 in cash
-2 stolen dirt bikes
-2 long guns
SQ spokesperson Sgt. Marc Tessier said that the handgun and the semi-automatic were not reported stolen and the two long guns were legally registered hunting rifles that were stored properly. He added that the two dirt bikes were not stolen within the Outaouais, but didn’t have further details on where they were reported stolen.

They could face charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a restricted weapon, possession of stolen property, possession of narcotics and possession of a prohibited device.
In addition, they will receive a fine of $300 plus costs for consuming an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.
