COVID cases on the rise in Outaouais

Like other regions in Quebec, the number of active COVID cases has been on the rise in the Outaouais over the past few weeks, hitting 261 active cases as of yesterday (December 14) according to data from the CISSSO.

The number of active cases in the Pontiac RLS (an acronym for local service network), which includes the Municipality of Pontiac, has hovered in the single digits, while the vast majority of the region’s cases are in the city of Gatineau, who had 175 on December 14.

The provincial government has announced that vaccinated people can gather indoors with up to 20 people as of December 23.
