Chris Judd awarded Medal of the National Assembly

26 April 2024 à 3:37 pm

On Friday morning (April 26), a surprise party was held at the Little Red Wagon Winery in Clarendon to celebrate long-standing community pillar Chris Judd, as he received the Medal of the National Assembly from Pontiac MNA André Fortin.

Fortin explained that he had recently marked 10 years in the National Assembly and thought it appropriate to celebrate the occasion by honoring 10 citizens from his riding for their contributions to the region.

Judd is a life-long farmer who served with numerous organizations advocating for the agricultural and English-speaking communities, including the Pontiac Milk Producers Board, the Regional Association of West Quebecers and as President of the Quebec Farmers Association. He is also a long-time columnist for Shawville’s weekly newspaper The Equity.

Fortin said that no matter where he goes, when he mentions the Pontiac, someone will typically say that they know Chris.

Shawville Mayor Bill McCleary, who worked for Judd as a boy, congratulated him for his life’s work in the community.

Surrounded by his wife, three children and a gaggle of grandchildren, Judd gave the audience some advice about raising a family.
