Bryson and Thorne now have COVID-19 cases

The most recent update on statistics from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais concerning COVID-19 indicates that cases of COVID-19 are now in the municipalities of Bryson and Thorne, on the territory of the MRC Pontiac.

Statistics show 5 cases or less for these two municipalities. Also note an increase in cases in the municipalities of Shawville, with 14 since the start of the pandemic, as well as in the municipality of Mansfield-et-Pontefract which has 12 cases since last year. The municipality of Pontiac (Quyon, Eardley, Onslow, Luskville, Breckenridge sector) now has 80 cases.

Currently, according to data from Thursday (April 8), the number of active cases in the Pontiac RLS is 27. Since last year, 132 cases have been recorded in this territory.

Remember that the municipalities of Bristol, Campbell’s Bay, Fort-Coulonge, L’Isle-aux-Allumette, Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Otter Lake and Waltham, have, like Bryson and Thorne, posted 5 cases or less since the start of the pandemic.

Increases everywhere in the Outaouais
It’s not only in the territory of the RLS Pontiac that the cases have increased, since the increase of new cases for today is at 165 for the whole of the Outaouais. The city of Gatineau currently shows 646 active cases, the territory of the MRC Papineau 95, 72 cases are currently active on the territory of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais and 14 in the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau.

On Wednesday, the director of public health in the Outaouais, Brigitte Pinard, asked the population to be extra vigilant.
