Boil water advisory in effect for Shawville
Boil water advisory in effect for Shawville
As of noon today (April 11) the Municipality of Shawville is asking residents to boil their drinking water for one minute before consuming it.
Mayor Bill McCleary said that the measure was precautionary, as there had been some maintenance done on equipment regulating the level of the water tower. By law, two consecutive water samples have to be tested and approved before the advisory can be lifted. McCleary estimated that it would be Wednesday next week before they would have the samples back and be able to lift the advisory.
Residents will be advised via the town’s Telmatik automated messaging system, as well as on the municipal website and social media.
