Application periods for grant funding approaching

At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on February 15, the schedule of application periods for various funding distributed by the MRC was approved by the council. In an earlier resolution, the mayors approved a new call for projects to distribute surplus funds from the 2021 FRR stream 2 budget, totaling $189,339.

The FRR has multiple “streams” focused on different types of projects, and is doled out to MRCs by the provincial Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAMH). Stream 2 focuses on projects that allow “for activities that mobilize communities and supports the realization of projects to improve living environments, particularly in the social, cultural, economic, and environmental fields.”

The schedule is as follows:

Structural projects – surplus 2021

Launch: March 17, 2023 Closing: April 18, 2023

Structural projects – 2023

Launch: August 15, 2023 Closing: September 28, 2023

Festivals and Major Events

For events that will take place between the period of June 1 through December 31, 2023

Launch: February 22, 2023 Closing: April 4, 2023

For events taking place between January 1 and May 31, 2024

Launch: September 26, 2023 Closing: November 7, 2023
