André Fortin named critic for Economy, Energy and Regional Economic Development in Liberal shadow cabinet
Pontiac MNA André Fortin was recently given his role in the Quebec Liberal’s shadow cabinet, where he will handle the Economy, Energy and Regional Economic Development files. As a critic, he will face off against Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon.
The nomination of the shadow cabinet was not without some hurdles however, as Vaudreuil MNA Marie-Claude Nichols, narrowly re-elected on October 3, was booted from the Liberal caucus yesterday (October 27). According to reporting from Radio-Canada, Nichols refused the post of transport critic, which party leader Dominique Anglade had asked her to occupy. With her gone, the Liberal caucus has dwindled to 20 members in the 125 seat National Assembly.
