The Jardin Éducatif du Pontiac donates $2,000 to Bouffe Pontiac
The Jardin éducatif du Pontiac announced today that they would be donating $2,000 to local food bank Bouffe Pontiac, a sum accumulated from their 35th anniversary barbeque back in August. The organization’s primary role is providing services to at-risk youth by having them work in the garden, located along Hwy. 148 in Litchfield, over the course of the summer. While the garden also supplies Bouffe with fresh produce, Director Martin Riopel said that they decided a monetary donation was an appropriate way to mark this year’s milestone.
He thanked the community for their support of the Jardin and their attendance at the year-end barbeque, noting that the youth who participated this year were excited to show the public what they’ve been working on all summer.
