MRC contracts out HR services to help choose new Assistant Director
At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on June 19, a resolution was approved to contract the Federation of Quebec Municipalities (FQM) for “support services in human resources and labour relations” to aid their selection of a new Assistant Director General.
The price range of these services is between $135 and $215 per hour. Speaking after the meeting, Warden Jane Toller said that the FQM can offer expertise in assessing leadership skills and personality types. She added that there were currently 10 applicants for the position.
Toller added that the Assistant DG would take on a combination of tasks, including aiding DG Kim Lesage with her work, as well as duties previously handled by the Economic Development Director, a position they would not be filling going forward.
The position of Economic Development Director at the MRC was a bit of a revolving door in recent years, with six directors departing since 2016. The most recent hire, Pierre Cadieux, was fired within weeks of being hired.
