MRC Pontiac to replace old logo on exterior signage
At the MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting on September 20, council approved a resolution to replace the old MRC logo, which featured a stylized Indigenous headdress. Warden Jane Toller explained that recently departed communications advisor Colleen Jones had advised the council that they should update the logo to match with their regional branding initiative. She also pointed out that the logo, which features 18 feathers to represent the 18 municipalities of the region, isn’t an accurate depiction of the type of headdress that the MRC’s namesake, the Odawa war Chief Pontiac, would have worn.
The contract to replace the two exterior signs was given to the lowest of two bidders, Enseignes Pontiac, for a maximum amount of $6,898.50. MRC communications advisor Francis Beausoleil said that they would also be ordering new flags, as well as new stickers for MRC vehicles.
