Apartment fire on rue Sauriol in Fort-Coulonge

A fire broke out in an apartment in a building on rue Sauriol in Fort-Coulonge on Monday around 2 a.m. The Fort-Coulonge fire department was joined by firefighters from Mansfield who came to lend a hand. Residents had to get out and even jump out of windows to save themselves from the flames.

“The ambulance services were also dispatched, there were no serious injuries and everyone escaped unscathed,” said Fort-Coulonge Deputy Fire Chief Gilles Dionne (translated). “I would like to thank all the firefighters and emergency services who were involved in putting out the fire. They did an excellent job, it was really not an easy situation, but in the end everything went well.”

The building suffered significant damage. More details to come.
