Students from ESSC ski at the Patro

Students from École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge took part in a long-distance ski activity at the Patro in Mansfield on February 22.

Organizer Martin Bertrand explained that they weren’t able to do the ski to parliament trip that they normally do this time of year for a variety of reasons, including the ice conditions on the Ottawa River. He said that instead they decided to imitate the same distance that they would typically cover, around 40 km, by doing laps on the Patro’s trails.

He said that the group hadn’t had much preparation, but the Patro was a good place to improve their skills. In addition to the nine students participating, there were also adult supervisors who helped out.
