Western Quebec Literacy Council seeking volunteers

25 January 2023 à 3:03 pm

The Western Quebec Literacy Council (WQLC) is currently seeking volunteer tutors to help with their goal of improving literacy, numeracy and computer skills among English speakers in the Outaouais.

Executive Director Greg Graham explained that the pandemic was hard on their volunteer base and they are currently in the process of building it back up.

Graham said that the amount of time spent tutoring per week depended on the individual volunteer and their availability. Though volunteers need to complete a police background check as well as a tutorial, people of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Those interested in tutoring can get more information by visiting the WQLC’s website or contact them at info@wqlc.org or 888-647-3112.

The full interview with Graham is available here.
