André Fortin sworn in as Pontiac MNA
Newly re-elected to his third mandate, Pontiac MNA André Fortin was sworn in yesterday (October 17) at the National Assembly in Québec City.
I, André Fortin, do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III.
I, André Fortin, declare under oath that I will be loyal to the people of Québec and that I will perform the duties of Member honestly and justly in conformity with the constitution of Québec. »
The oath to King Charles III has been gaining some attention recently, as Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre-Plamondon, elected for the first time this year, has refused to pledge allegiance to the king. He has since been followed by the other members of his party and the elected representatives of Québec Solidaire.
