The Sûreté du Québec are still seeking the public’s help in their search for 57-year-old Michael Scandiffio of Gloucester (Ottawa), Ontario. He was last seen around 8 p.m. on October 1 in Ladysmith, and was supposed to head towards the Otter Lake area. He was in a black 2017 Ford Escape SUV, with an Ontario license plate BNXP701. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red sweater and a red Toronto Raptors cap. His relatives have reason to fear for his health and safety.

His description is as follows:
Height: 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in)
Weight: 77 kg (170 lbs)
Brown hair
Brown eyes

In a follow-up statement they sent to media this afternoon (October 5), the SQ detailed the efforts that they’ve made in the search. They also provided a photo of the SUV and license plate (included below).

“Among other things, [officers] went door to door and canvassed in the Ladysmith and Otter Lake area,” they wrote (translated). “Agents are continuing their ground search and other investigations. The Sûreté du Québec helicopter also flew over the area yesterday. Several investigative steps have been taken and are continuing, in particular images taken by surveillance cameras have been verified.”

Anyone who sees Michael Scandiffio is asked to contact 911. In addition, any information that could help find him can be communicated confidentially to the SQ at 1-800-659- 4264.
