Touch-a-truck event returns to Shawville this Saturday

19 July 2022 à 12:00 am

After a hiatus due to the pandemic, the Shawville Parent’s Voice group is once again hosting their popular “Touch-a-truck” event this Saturday. Things will get underway at the Shawville Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Parent’s Voice President Alina Holmes explained that the group hosted their first such event back in 2016 and it was a tremendous success, attracting more than 400 people to come check out the big rigs and heavy equipment. Children will have a chance to climb on the vehicles, toot the horn and learn about how they’re used.

Admittance to the event is free of charge thanks to community sponsors, but donations are accepted. In addition to the trucks, the day will also feature bouncy castles, face-painting, and food provided by the local Lions Club and 4H Club (food will be cash only).

Holmes thanked all the community members and businesses that donated their time and vehicles.

For more information you can visit their social media event page.

The full interview with Holmes (4m30) is available here.
