Centraide Outaouais unveils the new president of their campaign

17 June 2022 à 12:00 am

Nicole Gibeault will be Centraide Outaouais’ next campaign chair for 2022. Centraide Outaouais describes Ms. Gibeault as a woman with an exceptional professional background, “Nicole Gibeault is from the Outaouais, in which she still lives, and knows the poverty issues in the region. Appointed the first female judge in the Outaouais in 1991, all jurisdictions combined, she sat on the Court of Quebec for twenty-three years. Since she hung up her toga, she has been a legal columnist in the media, among others at TVA, LCN and everywhere on the radio in Quebec: 104.7 FM Outaouais, 98.5 Montreal, FM 93 in Quebec as well as at QUB radio,” said Centraide Outaouais.

Civic and community involvement is a family affair for Nicole Gibeault, whose grandfather, Alexis Carron, was himself Campaign President for Centraide Outaouais in 1949. It was therefore only natural that she responded to the call from Centraide Outaouais, explaining to us: “ that she could not have refused to help her community in the face of the reality of the needs ” while specifying that “ the cause of women and children affects her particularly”. The Centraide Outaouais team is delighted to welcome him and launch the 2022 campaign alongside him to help the 70,000 people who use the services of the organizations supported in the four Outaouais MRCs and in Gatineau.

“The Centraide Outaouais Board of Directors is delighted that Ms. Gibeault has accepted to take on the role of chair of the next campaign. With the energy that we know for her and supported by a formidable team, Ms. Gibeault will be able to lead a great campaign for the benefit of the most disadvantaged in our community,” said Murielle Brazeau, President of the Board of Directors.

It should be noted that Centraide Outaouais provides funding for various organizations in the Pontiac (Bouffe-Pontiac, Center Serge Bélair, Comptoir St-Pierre in Fort-Coulonge/Mansfield, the Pontiac Educational Garden, the Pontiac Youth Centres, the Maison of the Pontiac family and the Patro de Fort-Coulonge/Mansfield). In Outaouais, Centraide Outaouais supports a total of 83 agencies.
