Police seized just over a kilo of illicit cannabis as well as edibles and other products following raids on two properties in Mansfield-et-Pontefract on Wednesday (June 1). Officers from the Sûreté du Québec’s station in Campbell’s Bay, under the level 1 coordination of the Outaouais, conducted searches on a house and an apartment on rues Morrisson and Mgr Pilon where they found 1.3 kilos of cannabis, 300 cannabis-infused gummies, 13 strips of wax and $870 in cash.

A 29 year-old man was arrested and released on summons. He is scheduled to appear at the Campbell’s Bay Courthouse at a later date where he could face charges under the Cannabis Act.

The raids were carried out as part of the ACCES-Cannabis program, which targets illegal producers and traffickers competing with the SQDC.

The SQ reminds the public that any tips regarding drug trafficking in their community can be sent confidentially to the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec at 1 800 659-4264.
