Plenty of people turned out in Mansfield-et-Pontefract on Friday evening (May 20) to witness the official lighting of the Felix-Gabriel Marchand Bridge. Several local officials were on hand for the ceremony, including Pontiac MP Sophie Chatel, MNA André Fortin, Warden Jane Toller as well as the mayors of Mansfield-et-Pontefract and Fort-Coulonge, Sandra Armstrong and Christine Francoeur.

Louis Harvey of the Phare Ouest organization, which spearheaded the lighting project, held a press conference at the George Bryson Heritage House earlier in the day to thank all the partners that made the restoration of the bridge and its lighting possible.
