Cold warning in effect for Pontiac

10 January 2022 à 12:00 am

Environment Canada issued a cold weather warning for the Pontiac for today and tomorrow. The release states that an arctic air mass, combined with brisk wind will produce wind chill factors of -38 degrees Tuesday morning (January 11).

“Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia,” the statement reads.

To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
